Every week I make a new playlist, at least that’s how it seems. Music helps me push through to the weekend. I can usually tell how great my week is going to go by two things, how long it takes me to get of the bed in the mornings and if I can get a great playlist together.
Here’s 5 songs from my playlist for the week:
- TJ Bridges featuring Jaxon- Dial It
“If I take your number will you call me back?” I like this joint. I don’t know too much about TJ Bridges except that he’s from the Bay Area, and he’s fresh to this music thing. I came across this track on twitter by chance, and decided to hit play. It’s been on repeat ever since.
- DeeJay- Again
Really cool guy from Panama City, Florida. I’ve never met anyone from a Spring Break destination, crazy. That has no relation to his music which is incredibly easy on the ears. He released a mix-tape late last year entitled Unorthodox, which includes this track (It’s my favorite). Really talented dude.
- Tinashe- Ride of Your Life
My love for Tinashe runs deep. From her mixt-tapes, to her first album; I was following her work and getting my life, ok? This record exudes confidence, and it makes me excited for Joyride. C’mon T, drop it already! That’s what I call her. I swear we’re best friends. (Ignore me, ha!)
- Dance Gavin Dance- Death of a Strawberry
Ok, so rock usually isn’t my daily go to. I can’t do all of that screaming. I just don’t get it. However, I really like Dance Gavin Dance’s latest album Instant Gratification. My little brother put me on to them, and in turn I put him on to Future. Such an even exchange.
- Alina Baraz & Galamatias- Show Me
Truthfully anything from their EP Urban Flora is subject to be on my playlist every week. Definitely something you want to have when you’re relaxing, or trying to set the mood. You decide what that mood is.
- Same Ol’ Mistakes- Rihanna
If you haven’t listened to ANTI yet, go get it! At this point Rihanna’s a vet in the game, and she’s covering all the bases with a variety of sounds on this new album. She’s got the reggae-esque thing going with “Work”, and the dark-pop vibe going with “Woo”. Not sure what kind of vibe I’m getting from this track, but I love it. Top 5 on the album if you ask me.
That’s all you get for free! That’s a wrap. Get out and dream, or something.
