A musical match made in heaven? Maybe.
The first time we heard the duo on a track together was back in 2013 with “Beware”. Then the two paired up again for “I know” on Sean’s platinum album Dark Sky Paradise last year. Now, we catch the two sneaking of to the studio once more to create their collaborative album. Each instance of the two working together seem to get better and better over time.
Uniquely named TWENTY88, the name of the album is representative of their birth year (1988), and the two both turning 28. Pages popped up on Twitter and Instagram on March 27th after the two posted the album cover on both of their social media profiles, creating a reasonable buzz over the album. The announcement included a snippet of “London Bridge” the last track on the album, and a teaser video with Jhene sporting a bright orange wig. Truthfully, the work speaks for itself. Aiko’s sultry and sexy appeal compliments Sean’s raw, uncut, yet dynamic versus.
Moments before the albums release, Sean fondly speaks of Aiko via his twitter profile calling her his favorite person of all time. After listening to the album, it seems like the two have teased flows out of each other that we may not have ever hear had they not been able to create this album together.
If you haven’t already check out the album on TIDAL or purchase it on iTunes. It’s definitely worth a listen, or three. Your choice Dreamr.
