Media representatives from newspapers such as the Atlanta-Journal Constitution and bloggers from Lookbook Atlanta and Situation Social, among other media platforms, came out for a media party early this morning celebrating a preview of Out of the Box:The Rise of Sneaker Culture at the High Museum of Art.
Many of the writers and photographers present came out clad in their sneakers ranging from Chuck Taylor’s, Air Jordan’s, Adidas, and Pumas in accordance with the exhibit display. After an overview carried out by museum curators, media patrons were guided over to finally view the historic exhibit.
Each pair of shoes is matched with a brief description and history, which presents information you may not have known about shoes we’ve all seen or have even worn. In addition to that, wall murals and a rolling film definitely add to the experience.
In effort to not give away too much, I will say that anyone planning to come out to the kick off party tonight will enjoy everything the displays have to offer.
The exhibit certainly made me view sneakers in a more transformative, cultural, and artistic light. If you haven’t already head over to https://www.high.org/Art/Exhibitions/Sneaker-Culture or here to get more information about the exhibit, and how you can attend the kick off party tonight at 7pm in the High Museum. Dreamr will be in attendance, so make sure you network and find us!
