“Love the world as strange as it is,” is the quote that fills the bio section of Kweer Kloth’s Instagram page. That was enough for me check out the street fashion brand created by Raqe Young. Plus, the gear is really dope.
Young, who is pictured above, is originally from Nap Town, Indiana, but now resides in Atlanta where his brand was made. When I asked him how he came up with the idea for his brand, I should have been more prepared for the interesting response I got back. “It came to me in a dream. I was being interviewed by Oprah, and she asked how did I take such a strange brand so far,” he said. We’re all about dreams here, but for Young’s sake I’m hoping this is an extended case of déjà vu.
Representing peace and art, which is present through their three finger logo, Kweer Kloth is about more than being odd. It’s about embracing our oddities because they are what make us unique. The art work chosen for the apparel sold by Kweer Kloth is fresh with a minimalistic appeal that sets the designs a part from other street fashion vendors. With his partner Krystal Ly behind the lens, the Kweer team is able to provide bright and interesting visuals that are representative of the image they are trying to establish with the brand. It’s safe to say that Kweer Kloth is brand you’ll want to keep your eye on.
If you’re in Alabama or heading to the Hang Out Music Fest, get a first hand look at the brand for yourself. They will have a table with a sneak peek of their summer line that is dropping next week Wednesday, June 1st. For inquires on Kweer gear send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org, and follow them on Instagram by searching their handle @kweerkloth to take a look at their selections.
Young’s closing advice to the Dreamrs out there is to, “Love yourself and everyone, as strange as they come. Make your dreams a reality and never let negativity direct your path.”
On that note continue to dream on, Dreamrs.
