Another standout artist from my #LVRNWKND festivities is one of the three feminine acts to hit the stage at Raurfest 2016.
A young woman, 17 years old to be exact, by the name of Kodie Shane graced the stage with nothin but energy and stage presence wrapped in to her five foot frame. She wore all black and rocked individual braids in the spirit of a modern-day Da Brat.
Among the few tracks that her set provided, “Losing Service” turned out to be my favorite. The track follows a woman not in the mood to deal with the nagging of an undeserving male friend. That track is a product of her recent project, Little Rocket, which was released a little under a month ago.
The five-track EP follows her February effort, 2060, a project that featured Lil Yachty and Lil Uzi Vert. Both projects were produced by Matty P and D Clax either collectively or separately with little outside influence.
If you like what you’ve heard here, check out the rest of Little Rocket and give 2060 a listen after that. Dream on.
