Over the last year, we have been keeping up with an up-and-coming film group that has been putting out numerous quality web-series. The Band of Artist Filmmaking Collective, or BOA for short, has reloaded its arsenal for a new slate of series for the summer/early-fall season. The collective is comprised of a group of filmmakers led by Lamont Pierré, Geno Brooks and Jared Wofford, who together produce bold, edgy and socially conscious content. Based mainly out of Los Angeles and Atlanta, BOA features storytelling with people of color for audiences who are underserved in the current mainstream television and film climate. Since 2013, they have had tremendous success with web series BLACK BOOTS, FREEFALL, THE TROUBLE WITH GOING SOMEWHERE and MIND OF A SINGLE MALE which have amassed almost 3 million views across the web. BOA offers color correction, color grading, editing, cinematography, wedding coverage, commercial work and film/tv production.
The group launched three new series (Love Crimes, Saints: A Southern Gothic, and Mind of a Single Male) and new episodes for two established series (Freefall and The Trouble With Going Somewhere) as well as BOAtv, a platform for paid subscriptions, which will allow supporters to see bonus scenes and extended episodes. The subscription service offers a $6/month option or a $50/year option for fans. Below, catch up on some of the new offerings from BOA then head over to YouTube for more work from BOA. If you like what you see, head over to boatv360.vhx.tv to sign up for the service.
BAND OF ARTIST is currently accepting invitations to schools across the country as part of their #BeTheMovement Empowerment Tour. The tour includes workshops, lectures, panel discussions and as well as special screenings.
